Vacancy in The Handmade Bakery’s Café
Part Time Front of House & Café Assistant
Our café is getting busier and we’re looking for a new member to join our team! We are a workers co-operative and we are currently expanding and developing our business. You need to be able to support others, work under your own initiative, and be happy to take on a variety of tasks as needed.
The essential skills and qualities we are looking for are:
- Experience of serving high-quality, attractive food in a busy café/sandwich shop
- A friendly and professional demeanour with a passion for looking after customers
- An understanding of and enthusiasm for working as part of a co-operative
Ideally, you will also have experience of working on a busy deli/sandwich counter, till and cash handling, clearing tables, washing up and operating a commercial dishwasher, food handling and preparation. Food hygiene training is desirable though full training will be given in house.
We are looking for someone to work minimum 12 hours per week, usually Tuesday and Wednesday, with flexibility to cover other shifts including occasional weekends. This is a six month probationary period with a view to a permanent role.

We’re an artisan bakery with an expanding café that focuses on world flavours using seasonal produce. We use quality ingredients often from local suppliers and work with our bakery team to develop ideas for new bread-based dishes. We’re community oriented and have a regular and loyal customer base. All-in-all, we’re a friendly and welcoming destination, be it for morning pastries, a light lunch, or a warming cappuccino and a slice of decadent cake!
