At the Handmade Bakery we make real bread using traditional artisan processes. Using just four simple ingredients flour, water, yeast and salt to bake over 20 nutritious and complex flavoured yeasted and sourdough breads. Our slow fermented, hand crafted, additive free artisan breads are made with the best quality ingredients which are organic and locally sourced where possible. Using the same traditional methods as with our breads, we make a delicious range of French patisserie, sweet Scandinavian buns and Savoury Danish rolls all handmade on the premises.


Our bakers make over 300 items of patisserie, lovingly crafted each week. The majority of these are made to partner the excellent teas and coffee available in the café. Small amounts are also made for sale in our local markets. All of our confectionery uses the very best organic ingredients and as our patisserie is slowly fermented using the same traditional methods as our breads, they develop a delicious depth of flavour.
