An exciting evolution…

johannahAn exciting evolution for the School of Slow and Handmade Bakery Courses. As many of you know, especially those of our customers that have been with us since the earliest beginnings of the bakery. Dan and Johanna, our founding members have been preparing the ground (literally!) over the past 18 months, for their exciting new venture abroad. They will now be concentrating on establishing a CSA (community supported agriculture scheme) in Spain. Terra CSA is a multi-farm project in Catalunya, building soil through permaculture, holistic management and regenerative agriculture techniques. They will be growing and harvesting olives and almonds at their Finca Slow base. Also joining them in this project are Graham Mitchell and Helen Coxon who will be running Finca Taperes. Graham and Helen were instrumental in establishing The Green Valley Grocer, our community owned green grocer in the village.

You can follow their progress via the Terra CSA website http://www.terra.coop and the facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TerraCSA

danOur flourishing artisan baking courses previously booked via the School of Slow will continue to be run by the regular Handmade Bakery team right here in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire. You will now be able to book over the phone or over the counter at the bakery as well as through our comprehensive online facility. The courses advertised up until the 2nd March are still bookable via the School of Slow link from our courses page. We are presently working on adding new course titles to join the present, popular roster. Please keep checking back for additions or join our newsletter for the latest developments here at HMB.

Everybody at The Handmade Bakery wish Dan and Johanna and the Terra CSA project every success for the future!
